The sailing-vessel Anna Catharina is a beautiful cruising ketch. "A magnificant example of yacht architecture and construction for long distance voyaging. Designed by W. de Vries Lentsch and built by Barneveld in Holland, 1963, to carefully supervised customer requirements " (Yachting World, 9/87). L.O.A 21 m, L.O.D. 17.35 m, L.W.L. 14 m, Beam 5 m, Draft 2.8 m. Her steel hull and superstructure were constructed to Lloyd’s 100A1. She is now surveyed by Germanischer Lloyd and classified 100A5.In addition she has got the Germanischer Lloyd-Certificate of Compliance with the requirements of See-Berufsgenossenschaft: "Richtlinien über Sicherheitsanforderungen an gewerblich genutzte Ausbildungsfahrzeuge" and performs the highest safety standards for worldwide navigation.

The S/Y Anna Catharina is equipped with all useful safety facilities including the obligatory FM/SSB/ Shortwave Transceivers, Navtex-Decoder, GPS, Radar, GMDSS-Epirb(Inmarsat-E). Though as well on board of our ship the age of computerization has been moving in, the old methods of navigation - independent of modern technics – by compass, chronometer and sextant are still practised routine.

S/Y Anna Catharina is a very strong boat, safely sailing still under heavy weather conditions. Fueltank and fresh water tanks have generous capacity for ocean voyaging.
